The Stripe-headed Tanager occurs on Caribbean islands and nearby regions, and males and females differ in plumage.
Males have bold black-and-white head markings and golden-yellow to dark reddish body plumage. Females are grayish olive with a smaller white wing mark.
It forages in thickets, forest edges, and gardens, often at fruiting trees or shrubs, and may be seen in pairs or small flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
