The Tawny-shouldered Blackbird is widespread in Cuba and is also recorded in northern and west-central Haiti. It occurs at forest edges and in open places, including gardens.
The male is glossy black with tawny feathers on the shoulder area of the wing. The female is less glossy and has a smaller shoulder patch.
The Smithsonian survey recorded the species at forest edges and open sites, including yards and areas around houses.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
