This medium-large eagle is profiled in a guide to Kruger National Park. Pairs fly over wooded savanna and hunt birds and small mammals.
In the Kruger National Park account, white windows show at the base of the wings and a broad band crosses the tail. Juveniles have a rufous head and variable breast streaking.
Pairs soar in the morning and may perch in leafy tree canopies during the day. They stoop to catch birds, small mammals, and reptiles, sometimes hunting cooperatively.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
