The Eastern Grey Plantain-eater is a large gray bird with finely patterned plumage. It lives in open African woodland and grassland and mainly eats fruit.
It is about 50 cm long. Brown spots mark the gray upperparts, the pale underparts have brown streaks, and the thick bill is yellow.
It eats fruit and other plant matter, including figs. It is rarely seen on the ground and builds a platform nest with two or three eggs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
