This turaco occurs in montane forest along the Albertine Rift in East Africa. Its green and violet-blue body contrasts with red flight feathers, and it mainly eats fruit.
The body is brilliant green and violet-blue, with red primaries conspicuous in flight. A peach-red patch marks the breast.
It favors mountain forest, especially bamboo zones and places rich in epiphytes and lianas. It eats mainly fruit and berries, along with leaves and flowers.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
