The White-cheeked Turaco is a green turaco centered in the Ethiopian Highlands. Its rounded crest, white cheek patch, and crescent-shaped white neck mark are distinctive.
Its green body has a rounded crest and an iridescent blue rear crown. A round white patch marks each cheek, with a white crescent on the sides of the neck and red flight feathers. Crest color and the prominence of the white marks vary by region.
It uses montane conifer and juniper forest and feeds mainly on fruit and berries. It moves among trees and can stay in family groups; the tree-dwelling and family-group behavior is described for turacos in general.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
