The male builds a large display structure decorated with objects. The species lives in dry woodland of northern Australia.
Its gray-brown body has white scalloped markings, and the male has a pink crest that can be raised or lowered. Females are smaller and may lack the crest.
Males build a large bower from twigs and grasses, then arrange small objects, often red, green, or white, around it.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
