This small bat is recorded from the Moluccas through New Guinea and the Solomon Islands to Vanuatu. A field guide describes it roosting in dim cave areas and pursuing insects near treetops.
The Hides Ridge guide gives up to about 6 g and a forearm length of 38–42 mm. It describes dark-brown fur with pale bases, narrow rounded ears, and pale claw tips.
The guide reports roosts in cave twilight zones and agile insect hunting around tree crowns.
