The Musk Duck occurs only in Australia. It dives in deep freshwater lakes and lagoons to search for food underwater.
Both sexes are sooty brown, with paler brown barring on the body and fine spots on the head. The male is larger, and his large bill lobe swells at the start of the breeding season.
In deep freshwater lagoons and dense reed beds, it dives to search for aquatic insects, crustaceans, shellfish, fish, and other prey.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
