This medium-sized bat is recorded mainly in forests of the Guianas and the Brazilian Amazon. It resembles a close relative, so skull and dental traits help with identification.
It measures about 5.8–6.4 cm and weighs about 20–26 g. Its fur is dense and short, ranging from light brown to dark brown or reddish.
Its call has a long constant-frequency component followed by a short frequency-modulated end. Preferred foraging habitat is poorly known. The species page suggests dense vegetation because there are no records from savannas or Amazonian karst areas.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
