This large rail walks through wetlands as it searches for food. Its red legs, grey face and breast, and reddish nape help identify it.
The bill is yellow-green, and the legs and iris are red. The face and breast are grey, the nape reddish, the back olive-brown, and the underside pinkish ochre.
It walks often with its tail held upright. It flies little and is seen alone or in pairs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
