This small mouse was studied in India's northern Western Ghats. It was often trapped in low- to mid-elevation grassland and in open, degraded ground without trees or shrubs. White underparts, bristly hair, and a short tail help distinguish it in the study account.
The study describes gray to grayish-brown upperparts, pure-white underparts, bristly hair, and a short tail.
At the study sites it was more often caught in low- and mid-elevation grasslands, including degraded open grassland without shrubs or trees.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
