The Brown Treecreeper has a pale brown back and black-and-buff barring across the breast and belly. It lives in dry forests of eastern Australia and searches for insects on trunks and on the ground.
Within the barring on the breast and belly, feather edges are rufous in females and black in males. Birds in northern Queensland are darker overall.
It searches bark on trunks and branches, and also looks for insects among leaf litter and fallen timber on the ground. It climbs trunks in a spiral.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
