The Peaceful Dove is a small grey-brown dove with barred plumage. In South Australia it feeds on the ground for seeds and usually occurs in pairs or small flocks.
Adults are grey-brown above, with black-and-white barring forming a band from the neck to the chest. The sexes look similar; young birds are duller and browner.
It picks small grass and sedge seeds from the ground and forages in pairs or small flocks. Local movements may follow the availability of food and water.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
