This vole is recorded along the Pacific coast of northern California and Oregon. It lives among leaf litter and fallen logs in moist forest and searches for fungi at night.
The back is chestnut brown mixed with black, fading to buff-gray on the belly. An indistinct reddish stripe runs along the back.
It is mainly nocturnal and moves through forest-floor litter and underground while searching for fungal fruiting bodies. It is often found around or under fallen trees.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
