The Bank Cormorant is a dark coastal cormorant of Namibia and western South Africa. It dives for food in nearshore marine waters.
It is mostly dark, with fine white head plumes and a white rump visible in breeding plumage. The upper half of the eye is orange-brown and the lower half green, edged by a narrow orange to yellow line.
It dives for food close to shore, taking rock lobsters and other crustaceans, molluscs, and small fish. Diet varies by location.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
