The Rufous-capped Motmot has a rufous head and blue-green eyebrow. It perches in the lower forest canopy and eats insects and small animals.
A black mask surrounds the eye, edged by a thin blue-green eyebrow. The crown is rufous and the back is green; the tail tips do not form rackets.
By day it uses the lower canopy of humid forest and mainly eats insects and larvae. It also takes amphibians, small reptiles, molluscs, small mammals, and fruit.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
