The White-crowned Wheatear is a black-and-white desert bird that watches for prey from a perch before dropping to the ground.
Adults stand out for their white crown, belly, and tail against black upperparts. The central tail feathers have black tips, and the sexes look alike. Young birds may retain a black crown until around one year old.
It watches for prey from a prominent perch and often catches insects on the ground. Its diet broadens when local resources are scarce.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
