Actinodura egertoni lives in montane forest along the Himalayas. It has an orangish wash on the front of the face and a white belly, and forages in pairs or small flocks.
Its belly is pure white, and the front of the face has an orangish wash. The Cornell account notes this combination as useful for distinguishing it from other barwings in its range.
It uses dense undergrowth in temperate forest and moist montane forest. Pairs are reported in the breeding season; outside it, groups of about 6-12 may form. Its listed foods include insects, berries, and seeds.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
A survey at Tuensang market in Nagaland, northeastern India, recorded 90 Rusty-fronted Barwings between May 2009 and April 2010.
