The Taiwan Barbet lives in Taiwan’s broadleaf forest, parks, and gardens and mainly eats fruit. A historical account quoted by the museum says it can be hard to see among leaves, while its clear call can reveal it.
Its plumage is described as blending in with leaves, which can make it difficult to see among branches. Its clear call may help locate it.
This species is endemic to Taiwan and occurs below 2,400 m. It favors broadleaf forest from lowlands to higher elevations and also uses leafy parks, gardens, and yards. It eats wild and cultivated fruits and small amounts of insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
