This bird occurs in wetlands of Argentina and Uruguay. An 1888 natural-history account describes it in dense reeds rising from water, where it remains concealed.
It has a rufous-brown back, a white eyebrow and underparts, and chestnut in the wings and tail.
It lives among dense reeds rooted in water and stays concealed. The account says it is reluctant to fly and reacts inquisitively to nearby sounds.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
