Reig's Aepeomys occurs in the northeastern Venezuelan Andes. Records include captures in cloud forest and small patches of páramo.
In the reported specimen averages, head-and-body length was about 114 mm and tail length about 127 mm, making the tail slightly longer than the body.
Ground captures were made beside logs, at tree and tree-fern bases, in rocky places, and near small streams. Other records came from shrubs and herbs near the forest–páramo edge.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
