This rare, long-tailed rodent occurs in Costa Rica and western Panama. Ecological records remain limited.
The dorsal fur is long and soft, grayish to brown. The underside is gray with ochre tones. The tail exceeds head-and-body length and ends in a small tuft.
It was trapped on the ground in mature montane rainforest in Costa Rica. Panama records include more open and drier habitats. Diet and daily activity are poorly known.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
