This rare greenbul is known from a restricted area of northeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Records consist of specimens and sightings; the last reported sighting was in 1994. A few observations describe its life in forest undergrowth, but much remains unknown.
The profile describes grey around the eye and lores, a white chin, yellow throat, greenish-yellow underparts and darker green flanks.
In 1994, three birds were recorded moving quietly in damp forest undergrowth at about 1,280–1,800 m. One followed nearby Joyful Greenbuls.
Seeds, pulp and a caterpillar were reported from the stomach of one specimen.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
