An eagle with a large head and broad wings. It hovers to search for snakes and lizards on the ground.
Two plumage morphs occur. The pale morph has whitish underparts, gray-brown head and upperparts, yellow eyes, and dark tail bands.
It soars and circles high, then hovers to scan the ground. It dives onto snakes and lizards when it finds them.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
