Archbold's Bowerbird lives in highland forests of central New Guinea. Males have a yellow-orange crest and prepare a flower-decorated display site during breeding.
An adult male has dark grey to black plumage and a yellow-orange crest that extends from the forehead to the nape. A female is smaller, lacks the crest, and is less black overall.
A male clears a patch of ground, lays fern fronds on it, and decorates nearby perches with flowers or orchid stems. This bower is part of courtship.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
