Hume's Wheatear is a wheatear with a black head and back and a white breast and belly. The sexes look alike.
It is larger, with a bigger bill and longer wings, than the male picata form of Variable Wheatear. Its black plumage does not extend below the throat, while the white reaches farther up the back.
It lives on barren hills and rocky slopes, foraging on the ground for invertebrates. Its song has thrush-like phrases, and it also gives a harsh call.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
