The San Diego pocket mouse is a small rodent that comes out at night to gather seeds.
Its back is dark brown and its underside is white. The rump quills are black, while those on the hips are white.
It spends the day in underground burrows and forages at night. It carries seeds in cheek pouches and stores them in chambers in the burrow.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
