The Bar-tailed Treecreeper lives in mountain forests and searches for small food items on trunks and branches.
It probes bark crevices with a long, slender, curved bill and braces itself against the trunk with stiff tail feathers.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
In the Swat comparison, the Bar-tailed Treecreeper significantly indicated the undisturbed group (indicator value 44.3, p = 0.02). In the same 16 sites, canopy cover, tree basal area and average tree height were higher in the undisturbed group, and bird-community composition was associated with vegetation structure.
