[3]Background and role
A British sheep-working dog whose development emphasised herding work. Its role and build provide comparisons with other collies beyond appearance alone.
[1]Appearance
A smooth outline and sound, balanced build are characteristic. Body and leg proportions provide comparisons beyond coat outline.
[1]Coat and comparisons
Black and white is familiar, but many colours occur. The standard disfavors predominantly white coats, distinguishing colour from white distribution.
