Silver Sable

Silver sable has dark hair tips over a silver background. The AKC glossary describes sable through this combination of background colour and black tips. The September 2023 AKC Gazette Tibetan Spaniel column gives a heavily black-overlaid silver sable as a specific example. Across the breed’s sable coats, the column describes a range from heavy overlay to light tipping on ears or longer neck hair.
