Buff Markings

Buff markings are patches ranging from off-white to gold, the range given in the AKC glossary. The FCI Canadian Eskimo Dog standard describes buff around the ears or eyes on white, on the head with occasional small body patches, and rarely in spots above the eyes or on the cheeks. The AKC Chinook standard permits symmetrical cream-to-pale-gold markings on the cheeks, throat, chest, breeches and underside. Placement and extent remain breed-specific.
