The Northern Bamboo Lemur occurs in northeastern and northwestern Madagascar. It is said to show little difference in appearance between sexes, but field studies remain limited.
The species is generally described as monomorphic, with little or no difference in coat color or body size between males and females.
One group studied at a northeastern Madagascar reserve often ate young stems and shoots of introduced bamboo, and soil consumption was also recorded.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
