The tailless tenrec is an omnivorous mammal native to Madagascar and the Comoro Islands. It searches for food around water and undergrowth.
Short spines are mixed with its fur. Adults develop a mane of stiff, long hairs along the back, and coat color ranges from gray-brown to red-brown.
It is usually solitary and feeds mainly on invertebrates, while also eating fruit and small animals.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
