This small brown bird occurs in reedbeds across Argentina. It stays hidden among reeds and attaches a globular nest to them near the water.
It is brown overall, with an ochre eyebrow and underside, black streaks on the back, and a cinnamon wingbar. Its graduated dark-brown tail has black outer feathers.
It inhabits reeds around lakes, lagoons, and rivers, staying concealed among the plants. Its diet is presumed to be insect-based, and it attaches a globular nest to reeds a few centimetres above the water. It is usually solitary and is often located by its characteristic song, which sounds like metallic tapping.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
