Archbold's Nightjar inhabits New Guinea's mountain forests. It hunts flying insects around dusk and at night.
Adults are dark brown, with buff-rufous spots and streaks on the head, back and wings. There are white patches on the lower throat, and pale spotting increases across the underparts.
It is active at dusk and at night, catching large insects in flight. By day it may roost on the ground, on logs or on branches.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
