This rat was described from Sulawesi. It has an unusually long face and lacks molars; the original paper proposed that it may feed on earthworms.
Its face is exceptionally long, and the upper incisors have two points. It has no molars for grinding food.
The stomach contents examined in the original paper consisted only of earthworm fragments. The authors proposed that the rat may be a terrestrial earthworm specialist in moist forest.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
