This flycatcher occurs on Borneo. The male is conspicuous for bright blue across the forehead and nape.
The male has a vivid blue band from the forehead across the supercilium to the nape, grading into blue on the mantle and outer tail feathers.
At Gunung Arun in Borneo, the expedition recorded it from 900 to 1,050 m. The report treats it as a lowland flycatcher extending into lower montane elevations, rather than establishing a preferred habitat.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
