The Samar Crow is a crow from Samar Island in the Philippines. The 2024 Clements update recognizes the Samar population as a species based on genetic and vocal evidence.
The 1890 original description says the adult male is black with a purple gloss, duller below, and has a strongly curved bill.
The recent checklist update describes the Samar population as restricted to remote forested areas. Its detailed ecology remains poorly known.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
