The Black-hooded Laughingthrush is a large laughingthrush of the Vietnamese and Lao highlands. Dark plumage extends from the head to the breast.
The bird is described as black, gray, and white. In the Langbiang account, the head to nape, ear-coverts, and breast are glossy blackish, and the forehead and feathers above the eye are pointed.
It gathers in dense undergrowth of evergreen broadleaf forest and searches for insects and caterpillars in the lower canopy and on the ground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
