The Bushveld Pipit is a small pipit that forages on the ground in grassland and open woodland. Its plumage is subdued, and records in southern Africa show a patchy distribution.
It is small and inconspicuously colored, making it hard to spot; the account notes a longer tail than in the similar Short-tailed Pipit.
It forages on the ground and may dive into nearby cover when flushed. After breeding, it can occur in mixed-species flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
