The Paramo Pipit searches for food on the ground in high grasslands. The Bolivia account reports subspecies that differ in the color of the underside and in their flank markings.
In the Bolivian account, subspecies immaculatus has dull ochre underparts and nearly unmarked flanks. Subspecies shiptoni is white below, with streaks on the flanks and back.
It is seen alone or in loosely spaced pairs. It walks and runs through short grass and flattened vegetation while foraging and may perch on grass tussocks or small bushes.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
