The Tete veld aethomys is a medium-sized rodent that eats vegetation, seeds, and insects. Confirmed records in the account are limited to parts of South Africa and Eswatini.
Its tail is longer than its body and sparsely haired. The account says it can be difficult to distinguish externally from the close relative Aethomys chrysophilus.
In documented parts of its range it uses shrub-covered, rocky, or herbaceous areas and eats vegetation, seeds, and insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
