The Falkland Steamer Duck is a marine duck endemic to the Falkland Islands, with short wings and a heavy build. It feeds along rocky coasts and may gather in pairs or small groups in sheltered bays.
Its body is mottled grey and brown, with a white line behind the eye extending down the neck. Sexes differ in head and bill color: males have an orange bill, while females have a dark head and mostly greenish-grey bill.
This duck is flightless and forages along rocky coasts, often in sheltered bays. Pairs or small groups may gather in protected harbors.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
