The pygmy ringtail lives in trees in the forests of New Guinea's central highlands. It is active at night and builds nests of leaves and moss in tree forks.
Its fur ranges from cinnamon to dark brown. The long tail is thickly furred above and bare and calloused underneath.
It is nocturnal, solitary, and arboreal. It makes nests of foliage and moss in tree forks and eats leaves, mosses, and lichens.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
