Handley's tailless bat has upper canines that meet enlarged blade-like lower teeth. It is recorded at mid elevations from Central America into the Andes and belongs to a nectar-feeding genus.
Its upper canine teeth interlock like scissors with large, blade-shaped lower teeth.
Anoura bats feed on nectar. The 2023 paper suggests that this species' blade-shaped teeth may pierce flowers to reach nectar.
