This very small bandicoot is known from high-elevation forests in the Arfak Mountains of western New Guinea. It has a dark stripe along its back and a white tail tip.
The back is light brown with gray-based hairs and a dark stripe from the crown to the rump. The relatively long tail has a white tip, and the belly has a creamy stripe.
The holotype label says it was collected in forest near Lake Anggi Giji. The authors infer a high-elevation forest habitat, but that single label does not establish a preferred forest type or behavior.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
