The white bald uacari is a monkey of the upper Amazon region of Brazil. Sparse hair on its head and face makes its red face and pale body fur distinctive.
The head and face have little hair, making the red facial skin conspicuous. Its body fur is pale.
A wildlife-management study in the Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo Community Reserve in Loreto, northeastern Peru, included the White Bald Uacari among primates recorded by line transects. Field monitoring for the study covered 2019 to 2024 in the reserve’s direct-use zone.
The reported mean density was 8.19 animals per square kilometre, compared with a carrying-capacity estimate of 4.94 from earlier work. The community management plan did not permit primate hunting, and interviews reported that tourism value discouraged hunters from taking primates.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
Under the Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo Community Reserve plan, primates including the White Bald Uacari were not among the species permitted for hunting. The 2019–2024 study recorded local density estimates and compared them with carrying-capacity estimates from previous work.
