Described in 2025 from the Philippine tube-nosed bat genus, this is currently treated by the MDD as a distinct living species. Its two known capture sites are on Mindoro Island.
The adult male holotype has a uniformly dark-buff underside. The female paratype has pale reddish-buff dorsal hair bases and a uniformly buff underside.
Both known individuals were captured in regenerating lowland dipterocarp forest on Mindoro. Dense ground cover included ferns, gingers, orchids, and Begonia.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
