It breeds in forests of Siberia and northeastern China and winters from southern China into northern Southeast Asia. The source uses the name Larvivora sibilans for the bird listed in the pool as Luscinia sibilans.
It is warm brown above, with a distinctly rufous rump and tail. The underside is whitish with fine gray-brown scaling, and the sexes are similar.
During breeding it uses forest with dense undergrowth; in winter it also occurs in more open woods, edges, parks, and gardens. It searches the ground for insects and other small invertebrates.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
